The objective of this course is to introduce to students the basic methods and techniques of financial data analysis, by showing them how to apply such techniques in the context of realworld empirical problems. Students will be able to understand and critically assess empirical papers in the financial literature, as well as to carry out their own empirical research. The material covered includes the major tools used by the financial econometrician. The applications will be based on real world data and involve hands-on computer work.
